We serve children with and without developmental disabilities from 6 weeks to 12 years of age in our inclusive programs:

We believe that all children are entitled to high quality childcare in a nurturing environment. We believe play, independent thinking, problem solving and self-initiated experiences are keys to healthy development. We honor diversity of all kinds—including the abilities, races, ethnic backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, marital status or ages of kids and their families. We strive to be culturally sensitive to all families, respecting their values and sharing the diverse population we serve.

Northwest Center Teen's New After-School Program!

Teen Program Brochure CoverNorthwest Center has launched a full-time summer and after-school program aimed at meeting the needs of working families with teenagers. The program is inclusive and accepts teens of all abilities. Additional support is provided for teens with developmental conditions that may require physical, emotional and social support throughout the day.

Northwest Center Teens After-School Program will start on Tuesday, September 6th. We are very excited to announce our home at Queen Anne Christian Church at 1316 3rd Avenue West, Seattle, WA 98119. The program will be held in their Fellowship Hall and run Monday through Friday from 3pm to 6pm. We will also be open full-time, 7am-6pm, during public school holidays to meet the needs of working parents. Our goal is to accommodate at least 12 youth on site along with 3-4 staff and some volunteers.

We offer a safe, structured and well-supported  thriving environment with a 1:4 staff to youth ratio. A team of well qualified staff with diverse backgrounds and skill sets including disabilities, behavioral and education backgrounds will be present at all times.

Northwest Center Teens will offer a variety of community based, inclusive programs for participants to develop personal interests and friendships, mature successfully into adulthood, live as independently as possible, and become valued members of their communities. Out-of-school programs will facilitate inclusion for teens of all abilities to navigate the challenges of extending themselves into the world. Teens with developmental conditions will receive the education, mentorship and support they need to practice skills necessary to fully participate in society.

Any question or information on enrollment, please contact Amy Bender, Program Supervisor at (206) 963-3025 or e-mail us.

The Child Development Program is a division of Northwest Center.
